Guidance has been published jointly by the public health agencies across the UK and the Academy of Medical Royal Colleges setting out recommended personal protective equipment (PPE), including for primary care dentistry. The advice says a filtering face piece respirator is recommended for aerosol generating procedures (AGPs), but that for other direct patient care, a fluid-resistant (type IIR) surgical mask remains appropriate.

Acrylic Transparent Protection Screens
Installing strategically located acrylic glass protection screens, such as around the reception desk, can separate staff and members of the public. This way, staff will not come into contact with potential carriers of the virus. Considering the barrier is Acrylic, people can still communicate efficiently with the screen between them.
